My future recital outfit

A few months back a coworker of mine predicted that Sara and I were going to have a baby girl, I am not sure if this photo had anything to do with that! 

8 Months

Sorry for the delay with regard to these photos. Apparently, having a new job, buying a house, remodeling said house, and helping pregnant wife are not valid excuses for not updating the blog regularly.  These photos were taken right before my cousin Megan's wedding, Sara cannot rock heels on a regular basis anymore. 

Libby just whispered in Uncle Jeff's ear that his whole life is about to change!

It's the Final Count Down & The elite Eight

What started with 66 baby girl names on August 5, 2010, has been narrowed down to the Elite Eight!  The brackets have now been updated online and for a quick reference the Elite Eight names have are listed below.  For those of you keeping score at home, please send me an email or make a post below to let me know how many total correct you have from round three.

35 Weeks

Baby E  has really filled out since our last visit with Dr. Bochantin! If she were born today her approximate weight would be 5 pounds 5 ounces.  Her current foot size is 7.71 cm in length, Sara thanked me for rapid foot growth. While not visible in these photos, Baby E apparently has developed quite a bit of hair. Good thing Sara has been buying all those tiny baby bows!  I can only hope that she looks like a tiny Asian boy, who in time will lose all her hair only to grow new blonde hair, oh, wait that was Sara.  While at the doctor I learned something new during Sara's fundal measurement.  For those who do not know, a fundal measurement is the measurement of the abdomen during pregnancy.  A nurse practitioner or doctor will measure from the  top of the pubic bone to the top of the uterus and it is measured in centimeters.  This measurement should be an accurate indicator to the number of weeks you are pregnant. So for this visit Sara measured 35 cm, which is how many weeks she is pregnant.

Two more names have been eliminated from the South Region! The playlist has been altered to reflect the music of the south.

Ch-Ch-Changes

Hello to our faithful followers!

As our baby continues to perfect her Mia Hamm like soccer moves, I felt it only fitting to update our song playlist to reflect her new favorite activity, Jumping Around!  Coincidentally, as we are in the midst of the early college football season, many of these songs are played during a Wisconsin Badger football game.

Finally, I have updated the baby name brackets.  We now have four regions the Midwest, Northeast, South, and West.  The Midwest region has now been narrowed to two names. These two names now make up part of what will be our Elite Eight. Click the link baby bracket for the updated to names. 

27 Weeks

At 27 weeks, we now start measuring the baby from head to toe, rather than just to their bottom.  Which means...she is almost 15 inches in length!  No wonder I feel like I might explode!  Also, her taste buds are developed now too, which means she can taste the differences in the amniotic fluid based on what I eat.  When I read about this they mentioned that her mealtimes are about two hours after mine, so I can see how she responds to a food by what I feel two hours after a meal.  Spicy foods often make her kick and hiccup, but really, I think she does that no matter what I eat!  Jeff pointed out that this may be why I can't fall asleep very easily anymore.  Just when I am trying to rest (you know about eight o'clock, everyone's normal bedtime) she is moving and shaking! Maybe dinner needs to be at four. :)

Six Months

Well, we are past the six month mark and the baby is growing a ton!  She is up to about 2 pounds and 9 inches.  In addition, she is getting stronger and more agile - making comfort and sleep more difficult for Sara.  Other than that, both ladies are doing well :)

Last week the baby was kicking Sara a ton - here is a clip of the action.  The up and down motion is her breathing, but watch for other movement - particularly on the left between 20 and 30 seconds in.   Crazy!
