This site is predominately devoted to the life of our beautiful daughter Lily, however, as you know I am in the first year as Elementary Principal in the Lowpoint-Washburn School District and wanted to share with you one experience from this school year.  Based on the socio-economic status of our current student population, I assisted in the facilitation of this program. I encourage you to read this article posted online in the Peoria Journal Star. You might even recognize a familiar name, should you feel moved to donate that can be arranged as well.

In preparation for my new ranking in the family dynamic, I found this cartoon in October very fitting! 

I love my tutu...

Shortly after I found out we were having a girl, I started collecting fabulous little girl accessories and clothes.  This tutu is one of my favorites that we got in Madison...I LOVE IT!

One Month Bath Pictures

Monday was Lily's one month birthday and it marks the beginning of her monthly bath pictures - a tradition started by Erin and Tom.  So far, baths are not Lily's favorite activity, but we decided to give it a go anyway.  We got all ready for the bath - undressed, water run, shampoo, wash clothes, towel good to go, went to grab the camera...it wouldn't work.  I mean, it said "memory full" but then flashed "no images," then back to "memory full," etc...so, while Jeff dealt with the camera, (which is going to be replaced soon for a variety of reasons) I wrapped Lily up in her pink monster towel to keep warm.  She proceeded to start to scream, spit up on me, the towel, and herself, and then she pooped all over me, the towel, and herself - I think the monster towel was a good indicator of how she was acting for this event.  Needless to say it was a good thing we were headed for the bath.  It was ridiculous.  Finally the camera worked, but by this time Lily was even less thrilled about bath time, let alone pictures.  By the end she did calm down...so, here are Lily's one month bath pictures.  Enjoy!

Before Lily was born we had some maternity photos taken of Sara.  We would have had them posted prior to Lily being born, however, our photographer sent them to the wrong address.  No fault on her part, it was a pretty busy October, November, and December this year and we simply forgot to mention it to her.  The photographer, Becky Urbanek (our wedding photographer), still has us pegged in the number one spot on her website for wedding photography, even though she does not photograph weddings as often.
