lily gets a real pool

Well, Lily is now seven months old and so much fun! Her personality shows itself more each day and she is a hoot…oh, and she finally has blessed us with her adorable giggle J

Lily loves to yell. Well, not just yell, but YEEEEELLLLLL! She does it when she is happy, mad, hungry, excited, tired - pretty much it is her way of communicating as of now and in my mind it is hilarious. For a short time this month Lily grunted a ton, who knows why, but now that seems to have subsided (but it was also funny while it lasted!).

While her diet hasn’t changed much, the quantity of fruits and veggies has increased and the nursing has begun to diminish. We have however added a couple finger foods. She has mastered Cheerios and Gerber Puffs, which she loves.

Sleeping is much the same, about 12 hours each night (usually about 6pm to 6am) and three naps. None of her naps are super long (somewhere between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours) but she goes down much more easily and wakes up happy most of the time.

Sitting has made a world of difference for Lily. She loves to sit and play, which usually consists of picking up a toy, putting it in her mouth, taking it out and tossing it to the side. She does this with all the toys in front of her and then yells, as if to say, “I’m done.” At which point we put all the toys back in front of her and start over.

The newest TERRIFIC thing that Lily took to this month was her pacifier. She has never loved any of the ones we have tried and she typically chewed on them like a toy rather than sucking. However, during some long flights to Texas to visit my sister Erin, her husband Tom, and their kids Will and Hallie, Lily finally took to her “sucker,” as her cousin Hallie so lovingly calls it. We couldn’t be happier because it truly does help her sooth herself. And, because we were on our way to visit Texas during this momentous occasion, Aunt Ernie graciously accepts credit for this accomplishment. Thanks Erin!

Lily’s likes and dislikes as of seven months:

Lily loves: Mom, Dad, Grandmas and Grandpas, her aunts, uncles and cousins, Zeke the zebra, Sophie, her Sleep Sheep, bathtime, chewing on her hands and anything she can get her hands on, warm weather, swimming, rolling over, the stein, fruit, sitting up, YELLING, her “sucker,” “puffs,”

Lily does not love: gas, being put in a car seat, trimming her fingernails, the cold wind, tummy time, being stuck after rolling over, her swaddle, legs hanging out of her crib, long plane flights, green veggies.
